How easily do germs spread? Watch this experiment to find out!

How many times have you heard over the past few weeks that you need to stop touching your face, wash your hands, and other hygiene precautions as society globally seeks to slow the spread of COVID-19? If you're like me, probably a lot.

Odds are, though, by the time you finish reading this post, you'll absentmindedly touch your face. Try it.

Engineer and YouTuber Mark Rober filmed a mini-experiment to illustrate just how easily and how far germs can spread through casual contact. By the way, if your face is randomly itching right now as you try to not touch it, don't feel bad.... mine was too as I typed this.

Take a look at the video, and you'll begin to see the importance of the precautions to take not just when sick, but when dealing with contagious outbreaks like the novel coronavirus disease being caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

If you managed to make it through this post without touching your face, congratulations. Now watch the video and see if you can make it!
