'Ultimate Self-Defense Carry' class this Friday/Saturday at GGF Firearms in Muskogee

This Friday and Saturday, Muskogee area residents can take advantage of an "Ultimate Self-Defense Carry" class at Glenndale Grace Firearms & Training, located just across the Arkansas River on Highway 69, 3/4 of a mile south of the Livesay Peach Barn. Here's more from owners/instructors Link and Susan Mock:

According to FBI's stats, the crime rate in Muskogee is THREE times the national average!  The crime rate IS declining slightly thanks in large part to responsibly armed citizens.  What is a responsibly armed citizen?

A responsibly armed citizen can:
  • Efficiently draw from a concealed holster or off-body carry (purse, brief case, fanny pack...)
  • Accurately aim at the appropriate target
  • Get off the "X"
  • Accurately shoot from alternate positions (driver's seat, passenger seat, from behind cover, laying on one's side/back...)
  • Efficiently shoot a moving target (the bad guy is rushing towards you)
  • Has a personal and home protection plan
  • Can counter an ambush (carjacking attempt, kidnapping attempt...)
  • Knows what to say and NOT say to the police
  • Knows the current Oklahoma law
  • Knows how to safely store their firearms
  • Knows how to safely stage their firearms
  • Knows the difference between "store" and "stage"
  • Realizes the benefits and need of continued training
SO...

Next Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22, we are offering the "Ultimate Self-Defense Carry" class.

Day 1: Concealed Carry Course Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun, shotgun and AR-15 basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training.  If you have recently taken our OK SDA class using the USCCA curriculum (Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals), this day will delve deeper and start getting to the nitty gritty.

Day 2: Defensive Shooting on the Range -- Defensive Shooting Fundamentals will guide you through the steps you'll need to take to go from just sending rounds downrange to actually training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense. From stance to grip to physical shooting technique, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level I will help you hone the edge on your inner warrior expert. You'll get your body working with your gun instead of against it, you'll learn which intuitive skills work best with what your body will naturally do while under stress in a combat situation, and you'll learn to apply this information simply and effectively - regardless of your skill level.

Day two is spent totally on the range putting the skills learned during day one into practice.  Prepare to shoot 400 to 500 rounds.  After this class, you'll be able to say you are, indeed, a responsibly armed Oklahoman!  This course is appropriate for all levels of ability with a firearm.  Youth are welcomed with a parent.

The cost of this two-day course is $200 for non-members and $150 for members.  Non-member couples will be $350 total and GGF member couples will be $250.  Lunch is provided both days.  The class starts at 9:00 am both days and will end no later than 6:00 pm.  You can register for the class here.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
