The National Republican Congressional Committee, the campaign arm of the U.S. House GOP, is out with a new robocall in Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District blasting Congressman Dan Boren (D-Muskogee) for voting against GOP budget bills.
CNN reports that the NRCC is also targeting other Democrat House members with similar ad or phone campaigns. Most of the targets are vulnerable 'Blue Dogs'.
Boren had his closest race yet in 2010, receiving 56.5% of the vote. If the Republicans can field a viable candidate, it appears that the NRCC is willing to step up and help.

I hope we can come up with a viable candidate this year too. Dan has got to go!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am expecting him to run for the Senate in 2014 when Inhofe's term will be up.

Do you suppose Dan disturbed Paul Ryan with that vote?
ReplyDeleteLast year Paul Ryan was on the NRCC and there was rumor that he opposed NRCC aid to Charles Thompson because Ryan's wife is a first cousin to Dan.
Maybe just rumor, as Charles had not reached the $100k threshold on his own to get any aid.

This could backfire on the NRCC since most Tea Party people agree the bill was bad and needed to be more cuts not less.
ReplyDeleteI think the NRCC is/was hoping that the Republican State House, Republican State Senate, and a Republican Governor would have done something to make the 2nd district a little more GOP friendly. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that will happen.
