In the closing hours of the Republican runoff election, gubernatorial candidate Mike Mazzei held a "tele-rally" with President Donald Trump. During the call, Trump announced that Oklahoma's Markwayne Mullin was joining him in endorsing Mazzei for Governor.

AG to Muskogee schools: 1st Amendment did not require canceling prayer walk

Drummond tells Muskogee schools the First Amendment did not require canceling prayer walk, offers future support

OKLAHOMA CITY (Aug. 21, 2026) – Attorney General Gentner Drummond today advised Muskogee Public Schools that it was under no constitutional obligation to cancel a community prayer walk earlier this month, and offered this Office’s assistance to any Oklahoma district that receives a similar demand.

Muskogee 6th and 7th Grade Academy had scheduled a Back to School Community Prayer Walk for the morning of August 12, the day before classes began. A Wisconsin-based advocacy organization, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, sent the district a letter the day before the event demanding its cancellation. The district canceled the walk, removed the announcements and notified parents.

In a letter to Superintendent Jarod Mendenhall, Drummond concluded that no student was required to be on campus that day, that no student faced any consequence for staying away, and that the walk was scheduled at an hour when no instructional period existed to interrupt.

Desperate Drummond demands drug test

As a sign of how desperate and flailing his campaign is in the closing days of this gubernatorial runoff, Genter Drummond is now demanding that Mike Mazzei submit to the same drug test that he took. It's worth noting that the physician quoted in this press release is a rabid Drummond supporter, who actively mocks Mazzei on social media.

I think it's interesting that the Drummond campaign feels that they're losing to someone who, in their mind, simply must be a drug-addled weirdo. That's the clear indication that they're giving off. Childish and unbecoming of someone who wants to be your governor.

DRUMMOND RELEASES CLEAN HAIR FOLLICLE TEST, CALLS ON MAZZEI TO DO THE SAME

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (August 17th) — Republican candidate for Governor Gentner Drummond today released the results of a clean hair drug test capable of detecting drug use over an approximately 90-day period and challenged Mike Mazzei to take and release the results of the same test.

Much like the ill-fated statement of Hillary Clinton, when she stated half of Donald Trump's supporters belonged in a "basket of deplorables," so gubernatorial candidate, Gentner Drummond stepped in it big time after he called some Republicans "fascists."

Drummond, who is running as a Republican after years of... donating to Democrats, evidently let his true feelings be known. 

There's plenty of reasons to oppose Gentner Drummond's candidacy, but you can add him being the Antifa candidate to the list!

Jake Merrick, Rep. Jim Shaw endorse Mazzei for Governor

As the runoff election draws closer, Mike Mazzei continues to win endorsements from grassroots conservative activists and legislators across the state. Two of the latest are conservative champion State Rep. Jim Shaw (R-Chandler) and Jake Merrick, who placed fourth in the June primary for governor. are choosing Mazzei over a floundering Gentner Drummond who is increasingly appealing to moderates and liberals with his campaign rhetoric.

Leftists cynically and dishonestly wielding the epithet “fascist” against Republicans has become a feature of modern American politics. Every Republican Presidential nominee since Gerald Ford has faced a version of this accusation. Kamala Harris repeatedly called President Trump a fascist during the 2024 election cycle.

But its use is not merely electoral. This particular slander serves another purpose crucial to the Left’s plan: justifying violence and legal persecution against conservatives. “Hey, Fascist! Catch!” was engraved on the bullet that took Charlie Kirk from this world. As was said by many following the Kirk assassination, "They don't kill us because they think we're fascists; they call us fascists so they can justify killing us." The 2023 indictments of President Trump and his staff were similarly justified by claiming the defendants deserved jail because of their “fascism.”

At a Tuesday forum, Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Gentner Drummond proclaimed that political parties “want the most extreme candidate to be their banner-waver,” and that the “extreme” candidates favored by the GOP are “fascists.”

In the following words, I may seem indignant at Drummond’s use of the phrase. That is because I am indignant. You should be too. Drummond’s reckless accusation plays into a radical, far-left narrative about American conservatives that often puts us in physical danger.

Mazzei's Millions: nears $11M in personal campaign loans

Prepare to be flabbergasted. We have a new state record for most personal money loaned by a candidate to his own political campaign:

Mike Mazzei has loaned his campaign nearly 11 million dollars.

$11,000,000.00.

Eleven million dollars.

That is more any candidate has ever personally loaned his campaign during one election cycle in Oklahoma history. Governor Kevin Stitt loaned his 2018 campaign ~$5M, and another ~$2M in 2022, for a cumulative total of $7M. That seems to be the previous record. Combined with his 2018 loans, Stitt raised another $5M+ for a full total of $10.8M, another record at the time. Mazzei smashed both in just a few months with his personal bankrolling.

McCall's $5.6M loan is nothing to sneeze at, also one of the top in history, but Mazzei's millions blow that away.

Wow.

New post-Trump endorsement poll: Mazzei on top of Gov race, Merrick into 3rd

The first publicly-released opinion poll since President Donald Trump endorsed Republican candidate Mike Mazzei finds the former state senator (unsurprisingly) taking the lead, with Attorney General Gentner Drummond falling into second, and perhaps more surprisingly, former state senator Jake Merrick jumping into third over significantly more well-funded candidates, albeit a somewhat distant third. The same poll finds U.S. Rep. Kevin Hern with a massive lead in the race for U.S. Senate.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The man behind a political group running a controversial AI-generated attack ad in Oklahoma’s governor’s race also holds a top position at the firm running a different candidate’s campaign—raising questions about whether the two are illegally coordinating.

The group’s ad targets Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Mazzei. The firm in question runs the campaign of opponent Gentner Drummond.

Mazzei’s campaign accuses the group of illegally coordinating with Drummond’s campaign. The group and Drummond’s campaign both deny it.

Senate passes bill to criminalize delivering (but not ordering!) abortion pills

This is another piece of legislation that dances around actually abolishing abortion in Oklahoma and treating all participants in the murder of the unborn equally. Under this bill, it would be a felony crime to deliver — but not to order — abortion pills. 

That's right. An individual ordering a murder pill and originating the process of this infanticide would be exempt from prosecution, but the person "knowingly or intentionally delivering" the pills would be criminalized. 

Why must pro-life Republicans try so hard to be 'cute' and play around the edges when it comes to ending abortion? For decades now, the Republican-led legislature has advanced piecemeal half-measures, rather than attacking the issue in a full-fledged, all-encompassing, equal-justice manner.

This bill passed by a vote of 37-10, with abolitionist State Sen. Warren Hamilton (R-McCurtain) debating and voting against it, arguing for a measure that actually accomplishes the goal of ending abortion, rather than nibbling around the edges. Hamilton was a coauthor of a bill in 2025 that would have addressed the pro-life "loopholes" that Attorney General Gentner Drummond is using to not enforce Oklahoma's existing ban [Oklahoma Statute 63-1-733] on self-managed abortions, i.e. abortion pills at home. 

It's not that Sen. Bullard or Rep. Hader's motivation is bad; their hearts are in the right place, seeking an end to abortion. It's just that this isn't the way. It's that we can do better, but the leadership won't allow it.

We absolutely can pass a bill to fully abolish abortion. There's a bill in the legislature that does that very thing. Leadership could still allow it to be heard, but they refuse to.

The only thing preventing the Oklahoma Legislature from abolishing abortion is the cowardice of the GOP leadership. Instead, they want to placate the grassroots who want to see abortion ended by giving them tiny bites at a time.

Senate Gives Final Passage to Bill Creating Crime of Abortion Pill Trafficking

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 30th) – Sen. David Bullard, R-Durant, has advanced to the governor’s desk legislation that would outlaw the home delivery and distribution of abortion pills.

Today, in a vote of 37 to 10, the Senate passed House Bill 1168 to make it a felony crime to traffic abortion pills.

The measure creates a felony offense for anyone to knowingly possess or deliver abortion-inducing drugs — including mifepristone, misoprostol and methotrexate — to someone who intends to use them for an abortion.

Cleveland County Sheriff pleads no contest to embezzlement, resigns from office

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 27, 2026) – Cleveland County Sheriff Donald Amason pleaded no contest today to one felony count of embezzlement, stemming from a recent indictment brought by the Multi-County Grand Jury. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Amason has agreed to resign from office effective immediately, pay $10,000 in restitution, accept a five-year deferred sentence and surrender his CLEET card.

Amason was charged with moving between $2,500 and $15,000 from his campaign account to himself and others on multiple occasions, violating the ethical rules that govern use of campaign funds. The transfers occurred between May 2020 and July 2025.

Candidate filing for 2026 statewide, legislative, and judicial offices concluded yesterday, and boy were there some surprises.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 13, 2026) – The Multi-County Grand Jury indicted a Massachusetts man this week for falsely impersonating former State Superintendent Ryan Walters.  

According to the indictment, Owen Thomas Cunningham, 48, sent letters in August 2024 to school superintendents across Oklahoma. The letter directed school officials to distribute documents to students. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation after Walters confirmed he did not authorize or send the letters.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 22, 2026) -- The Oklahoma Ethics Commission, represented by Attorney General Gentner Drummond's office, has filed a lawsuit against RFD & Associates, Inc., alleging the Texas-based vendor failed to deliver a critical political finance reporting system despite repeated assurances and multiple deadline extensions, costing the state more than $800,000.

In December 2024, the Ethics Commission contracted with RFD & Associates, Inc. to create a new system to support statutorily mandated filing, review, and public disclosure in a timely manner. With the exception of the initial project kickoff, it failed to meet six of seven major contractual milestones and never produced an operational system. 

Drummond attracts donations from 6th most liberal senator

In an interesting tidbit from campaign finance filings, State Sen. Jo Anna Dossett (D-Tulsa) appears to be donating $10 per month to Republican Gentner Drummond's gubernatorial campaign. The date lines up with something like an auto-draft, and hints that donations may stretch back to April.

According to the Oklahoma Constitution's Conservative Index, Dossett is the 6th most liberal member of the Oklahoma Senate.

This is a bit of a turnaround from the more traditional Drummond track record, where he is usually the one giving campaign donations to Democrats, such as

• $1,000 to Brad Carson in 2004 (against conservative hero Tom Coburn).
• $2,500 to Democratic Congressman Dan Boren from 2004 to 2010.
• $1,500 to Democratic Lt. Governor candidate Pete Regan in 2005-2006.
• $500 to Democrat Drew Edmondson's 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
• $1,450 to Democratic nominee John Olson in the 1st Congressional District race in 2012.
• $500 to Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith (D) in 2012.
• $1,000 to Tulsa mayoral candidate Kathy Taylor (D) in 2013
• $1,000 to Democratic senatorial nominee Matt Silverstein (running against Jim Inhofe).
• $500 to State Representative and future Oklahoma Democratic Party chair John Waldron in 2017.
• $250 to State House candidate Andy Richardson in 2018.
• $1,000 to Joe Biden in 2020 (Drummond blames it on his wife).

OKLAHOMA CITY (November 13, 2025) - Today, Governor Kevin Stitt appointed Russ Cochran, former Assistant District Attorney for Lincoln and Pottawattamie Counties and former General Counsel for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, to act as a special prosecutor in the wake of the State Attorney General’s actions regarding the prosecution of certain crimes in eastern Oklahoma.

“State and federal courts have been clear. The State of Oklahoma can prosecute Indians who commit non-major crimes in our state,” said Governor Stitt. “I will not stand by and allow lawless Drummond to undermine district attorneys who are prosecuting crimes and keeping Oklahomans safe.”
