Mazzei participated in a televised debate last night (along with the three other leading candidates - Gentner Drummond, Charles McCall, and Chip Keating). He has surged in recent polling: from 13% in January (tied for a distant second-place, Drummond led with 36%), to 15% and third-place in April, to tied for the lead with 22% last week, and a new poll released today has him at 22% behind Drummond at 24%, with Keating and McCall trailing at 17% and 12%.
