KFOR digs into PAC running AI-generated anti-Mazzei ad, finds deep Drummond ties, controversial consultant

Ah, check it out, the same names behind almost every sleazy, dirty trick in Oklahoma politics are doing it again, just skirting the fringes of legality, as their custom is. If it's dirty, questionable, or unethical, you can almost bet money that political consulting firm CAMP or someone with ties to consultant Fount Holland is behind it:

News 4 investigates: PAC running AI-generated anti-Mazzei ad tied to firm running Drummond campaign

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The man behind a political group running a controversial AI-generated attack ad in Oklahoma’s governor’s race also holds a top position at the firm running a different candidate’s campaign—raising questions about whether the two are illegally coordinating.

The group’s ad targets Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike Mazzei. The firm in question runs the campaign of opponent Gentner Drummond.

Mazzei’s campaign accuses the group of illegally coordinating with Drummond’s campaign. The group and Drummond’s campaign both deny it.

Recognizing the Oklahoma Capitol Press Corps

While Oklahomans are busy at work, the State Legislature deliberates on legislation that will affect their lives. Keeping up with events at the Capitol can be nigh impossible for the average citizen, especially when the Legislature runs late-night sessions and committee meetings, pulls legislation out at the last minute, and generally makes things difficult for common people to be able to observe (i.e. difficult-to-navigate websites and technical issues with video/audio when under heavy viewing load... looking at you, State Senate, in particular...).

Unknown to most people, there is a small band of journalists and media personnel that are assigned to observing the legislative session, many of whom do as-it-happens reporting on Twitter rather than just evening print or television stories. They bring much needed light and transparency to an oftentimes dim and hidden state government.

Several of the journalists on the list below tweet details from committee meetings, floor activities, snippets from floor debate, practically everything that happens with or without a microphone in the Legislature.

These individuals provide an invaluable realtime service to the people of Oklahoma. When I'm working or unable to personally watch or listen to proceedings in the Legislature, I monitor tweets from these dedicated reporters in order to stay in the loop with what is going on at 23rd and Lincoln.

KFOR: Oklahoma Obamacare premiums see 35% price hike

Right in time for Halloween, ObamaCare is out with some new - and scary - price increases for Oklahomans.

From KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City:

Oklahomans who buy health insurance on the federal marketplace could be in for sticker shock this year.

The Department of Health and Human Services is estimating premiums will jump 35 percent on average for the one company returning to the exchange this year: Blue Cross Blue Shield.

According to HHS, last year, more than 126,000 Oklahomans took their pick of plans from four different companies: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Community Care, Global Health and Assurant.

This year, three of those companies dropped out, and only one - United Healthcare - stepped in to replace them.
