Coburn: 'Apocalyptic pain' if debt is not brought under control

My friend Larry Jackson of Political Realities posted this video of U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Muskogee) on Fox News Sunday, discussing the danger that our national debt poses to America's fiscal future. I recommend watching the interview.



Side note: I think Dr. Coburn's new beard is growing on me...

    I saw the interview live and Dr. Coburn is right on target. Unless we get spending under control, America as we know it is doomed.

    I do not like the beard. I saw the interview live also, then watched the repeat. I agree with you, Steve. Dr. Tom is 100 percent on target.

    Jamison, first thank you so much for adding me to your blogroll. I'm honored to be here.

    It's wonderful that Coburn is getting a lot of press on his comments. So often, Republicans are not heard, but it wasn't easy to duck this one.

    I believe he is accurate, and to think of 18% unemployment is terrifying. Even more terrifying are the the words "destruction of the middle class." .

    I hope he and others in Congress can stay strong in their conservative commitments. Coburn won't have a problem doing so.
