NRA-PVF Endorses Mary Fallin for Governor of Oklahoma

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Mary Fallin for Oklahoma Governor this November.

“The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund supports Mary Fallin because she is a champion and staunch defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding Oklahoma gun owners,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “As a Congresswoman, Mary has worked to preserve and protect our gun rights, and I know she is committed to continuing this work as governor.”

During her time in Congress, Mary Fallin has supported many pro-gun efforts, including signing pro-gun congressional “friend of the court” briefs in both the Heller and McDonald cases, stating that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental, individual right that protects all Americans. Fallin opposes any effort to reenact the Clinton semi-auto ban. She voted in favor of allowing law-abiding citizens to carry in national parks and wildlife refuges and voted to protect access to federally-owned or administered lands for hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting.

Fallin’s voting record in Congress and her support for the Second Amendment have earned her an “A” rating and the endorsement of the NRA-PVF.

 “On November 2nd, I urge all Oklahoma NRA members, hunters and gun owners to vote Mary Fallin for Governor,” Cox concluded.

Erickson: NRA Now Leans Toward Endorsing Harry Reid

Multiple sources tell me the National Rifle Association is planning to endorse liberal Harry Reid against pro-gun champion Sharron Angle.

Two weeks ago, I told you about the carveout the NRA received in exchange for their support for the DISCLOSE ACT deal.

Then this week, RedState broke the story of the “gag order” the NRA issued to members of its Board on the Kagan nomination.

Now, I’m getting credible reports that the NRA is leaning toward endorsing Harry Reid, even though the NRA is finally saying it will score a vote on Kagan — something that was not a sure thing.

Why would they do this? Why would they go out of their way to protect a Senator who has demonstrated a repeated hostility to the Second Amendment in his votes and his leadership?

Well, I thought perhaps the NRA carveout in the DISCLOSE Act might be the answer. But, there is more. It turns out, Reid secured a $61 million earmark for a gun range in Clark County, Nevada.

NRA-PVF Issues Endorsement Statement

The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, the endorsing arm of the organization, issued the following statement today.

NRA-PVF Has Not Issued Any Endorsement in the Race for Attorney General!

Recently, it was erroneously reported on an Oklahoma City political news program that the NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) had issued an endorsement in the race for Attorney General for the July primary election. This report is untrue and has caused no small amount of confusion among NRA members and political candidates, alike.

Please note that NRA-PVF has made NO endorsement in this or any other race as of today, Tuesday, February 23. The false statement was made by a third party and not by any of the candidates for Attorney General.

I have not been able to locate where it was stated that the NRA-PVF had endorsed a candidate, neither have I found out which candidate was rumored to have been the recipient.
