State Sen. Shane Jett endorses Mazzei for Governor

State Sen. Shane Jett, head of the Oklahoma Freedom Caucus, is backing Mike Mazzei for Governor, joining a host of other conservative legislators and activists in picking Mazzei over Drummond:

As one of the most conservative senators in the Oklahoma Legislature, my focus has always been representing taxpayers, not state agencies and certainly not lobbyists.

I endorse Mike Mazzei for Governor because I value integrity and put policy above personality.

I served in the House while Mike Mazzei served in the Senate. He is serious about policy and has maintained a consistent conservative voting record. In contrast, as Attorney General, Gentner Drummond repeatedly sought large budget increases and greater concentration of power in his office, then used that power to shield friends and allies from accountability when they broke the law.

No two people agree on every issue, value, or priority. In the abundance of counsel, there is safety. I find Mike eager to discuss policy and willing to listen.

As Chairman of the Freedom Caucus, I stood with true conservative lawmakers who defended Oklahoma families and refused to compromise conservative principles. These were men and women who placed their faith in God above the fear of man, who sought wisdom through prayer rather than relying solely on their own understanding, who pursued God’s will more than the approval of others, and who held fast to truth instead of manufacturing narratives and amplifying them with money. Because of Mike’s focus on policy and his strong faith, I am confident he will work with conservative legislators without playing the dirty games that too often define life at the Capitol.

Oklahoma needs a serious, policy-driven governor who will appoint people who reflect our state’s values. In this race, the choice is clear: Vote for Mike Mazzei.
