The 2024 primary will be here before you know it. Here's an announcement from a candidate in Oklahoma State House District 22:

Conservative Republican Troy Golden Announces Candidacy For
Open State Representative Seat - House District 22

October 17, 2023 – Conservative Republican Troy Golden announces his candidacy to serve Oklahomans living in Johnston, Murray, Atoka, and part of Coal County that comprise Oklahoma House District 22.

While the Republican primary election takes place next June 18, 2024, Troy’s campaign is well underway, working to earn votes in this open seat election. The seat is open due to current House Speaker Charles McCall reaching the years of service legal limit, which requires the seat to be vacated.

Troy Golden said, "I am grateful to Speaker McCall for his strong leadership, and with the voter's support, I will work to continue achieving growth and success for our region in the years ahead. It is an honor to serve Tishomingo as city manager, and I look forward to the opportunity to bring my real world business experience and local government expertise to serve in furthering pro-business, pro-family, pro-farm and ranch policies that will continue to build success for the communities."

Troy Golden currently serves as City Manager of Tishomingo, and on the Johnston County Industrial Authority Board. He has strengthened infrastructure by building partnerships with economic development partners on road infrastructure programs, multi-million dollar water treatment plants, supplemental water lines and a new wastewater plant underway, and has brought millions of dollars to the local economy by securing additional businesses, infrastructure enhancements, and economic development to the area. His tenure in the municipality comes after a successful private sector career managing sales teams and territories spanning half of the United States, and developing business opportunities in agricultural sales.

Golden possesses exceptional leadership skills to effectively guide teams, forge effective alliances, and achieve successful project outcomes. His ability to collaborate with partners from economic, state, tribal, community, faith, and education sectors, combined with a profound understanding of the practical implications of legislative maneuvers, uniquely equips him to make a significant impact at the state capitol. With his invaluable skills, Golden is poised to deliver tangible and positive outcomes for our region. “I am committed to defend our Oklahoma values, protect our water from EPA backroom maneuvers to control our ranches and farms, preserve our way of life, and partner with all who have our state’s best interest in mind to ensure that freedom and opportunity are expanded while federal government interference stops at our state border,” said Golden.

Born into a ranching family and raised to understand the value of an earned dollar, Troy Golden will protect your paycheck - knowing that every dollar the government spends originated in your pocket. Therefore, funds should be used for your benefit - protecting our communities, building a strong infrastructure, funding education, and fostering an economy that grows and supports our families so our current and future generations thrive.

Troy Golden is married to Carrie Dilday Golden, and the two live on a ranch in Connerville and attend First Baptist Church. Troy and Carrie are entrepreneurs who, among other ventures, own and manage Houser’s Furniture Store on Main Street Tishomingo, and the Stay Golden Inn, which welcomes visitors from across the region who come to experience the vibrant tourist destination of Tishomingo.
