Reps. Hern, Brecheen blast Biden's bloated budget proposal

President Biden released a 6.9 trillion dollar budget on Thursday, a $1.1T increase from his budget proposal for the past fiscal year. You can read some more about it here from The Federalist. There are nearly $5 trillion in tax hikes over the next decade as part of the plan, and massively increased spending across the sprawling, bloated federal government monstrosity.

Oklahoma Congressmen Kevin Hern (R, OK-01) and Josh Brecheen (R, OK-02) have some thoughts on the proposal. Read below:

Biden’s budget fails to protect Americans from debt disaster

WASHINGTON, DC (March 9th) – Republican Study Committee Chairman Kevin Hern (OK-01) released the following statement after President Joe Biden released his FY 2024 budget proposal to Congress.

“The United States faces extreme challenges as a result of unchecked Democrat spending over the last two years,” said Chairman Hern. “Even record-high revenues cannot keep up with the rate of spending, which has driven us into a debt crisis that may well destroy our country if we don’t fix it – soon. Biden’s budget shows us that he has no plans to stop the spending. His answer? Let the Social Security trust fund go bankrupt so retirees have their benefits automatically slashed and then burden Americans with $5.5 trillion in new taxes!

“Thankfully, Americans elected a conservative majority in the House of Representatives, and we are the gatekeepers between Joe Biden and a blank check from the taxpayers. I hope we bring Biden’s budget boondoggle to the floor, because Americans deserve to know where their Representatives stand on this radical agenda to bankrupt our nation. Anyone who votes for these failed policies is not serious about solving our fiscal crisis.”

Chairman Hern continued, “Unlike Biden’s budget, which fails to protect the American people from a debt disaster, the Republican Study Committee is on track to produce yet another fiscally responsible budget that restores fiscal sanity and ensures prosperity for future generations. Our budget isn’t just for Republicans or conservatives – it’s something all Americans can be proud of.”

Congressman Brecheen Reacts to President Biden’s Bloated Budget: “We Need to Cut Woke, Weaponized, and Wasteful Spending”

Washington, D.C. (March 9th) – Congressman Josh Brecheen issued the following statement after President Biden released his Fiscal Year 2024 budget.

“Instead of cutting woke, weaponized, and wasteful discretionary spending, President Biden is proposing massive tax hikes on American people and businesses,” said Congressman Josh Brecheen.

“There is a ton of waste in our government. Why are American taxpayer dollars funding drag shows in Ecuador and pro-prostitution LGBT groups in Colombia? We don’t need to raise taxes on Americans and companies when there are so many areas on the discretionary side that we can cut,” Congressman Brecheen concluded.
