Sen. Dahm files legislation to prohibit fluoride in public water supply

OKLAHOMA CITY (January 5th) – Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, has filed legislation to prohibit fluoride from being added to any public water supply.

“Many countries have stopped the use of fluoride in their water due to health concerns and lack of supporting evidence for its efficacy when ingested,” Dahm said. “Finland, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, and Switzerland are just a few of the countries to do so.”

Senate Bill 165 would prohibit every county, municipality, city, town, school, or political subdivision thereof, or public or private business operating in the state from introducing or depositing fluoride into any public water supply.

“If individuals want to use fluoride there are ways they can access it,” Dahm said. “This legislation would prohibit the forced usage of fluoride on the entire population, leaving it up to the individual to decide whether to consume it.”

  1. It would be a terrible idea to cease fluoridating the water. Dental decay rates will rise dramatically and no one will be better off except dentists and pay day loan companies.

Fluoridation is safe. Don't believe the false 'anti-vax" type news. That news is spread by people who sell water filters for $$$

It is untrue that many countries have stopped fluoridating. Many European countries don't fluoridate because they have many water treatment plants. For example, Brussels has 26 so in Belgium the salt is fluoridated.

  2. Fluoridation began with the mistaken theory that fluoride was an essential nutrient which teeth needed to grow decay-free. Modern science disproved that - meaning that consuming a fluoride free diet doesn't cause cavities. 77 years of fluoridation in the US and 70% of US kids are fluoride-overdosed, afflicted with dental fluorosis (discolored teeth) Yet, tooth decay is at epidemic proportions. Politics not science supports fluoridation
