American Majority 'Training Bomb' tomorrow in Bixby

American Majority is holding a Training Bomb tomorrow at locations across the country, designed to educate and train conservative political activists.

Not only will it be the biggest one-day training of conservative activists ever, but American Majority is going to be introducing new lectures, new manuals, and new projects.

Honoring Constitution Day

On September 17th, we will celebrate the 224th anniversary of the signing of our Constitution. It is one of the greatest political documents in history.

But in 2011, the principles of limited government and individual freedom are in question. Understanding there is a problem is not enough. Coming up with ideas to solve the problems is not enough. Protesting is not enough. For us to turn this country around, the citizens must be equipped with the tools to bring about real change, and then spurred into action. We know we need to reduce the impact of government on our lives in order to make America stronger, and there’s no better day than Constitution Day to bring thousands of Americans together to learn how they can ensure we continue to live in a free society.

Get trained. Make a difference.

To that end, American Majority, one of the premier political training institutions in this country, is proud to announce that on September 17th, Constitution Day, it will be conducing the first ever Training Bomb. Tea Party members and liberty minded activists will come together in more than thirteen cities for the largest single-day grassroots training initiative in American history. For the first time, simultaneous sessions across America will be held to educate and mobilize fiscally conservative activists and future leaders.

This is not a rally. This is not a summit.

This is a massive effort to equip concerned citizens with the tools necessary to bring about change. Both an activist and candidate curriculum will be offered at each location to help the conservative cause organize for victory next year.

With the 2012 election season just around the corner, American Majority Oklahoma is inviting patriots to get a jump on the competition in preparation for one of the most important elections in recent memory.
On Saturday, September 17th, American Majority Oklahoma will be in the Tulsa metro to present “Kickoff to Election 2012”.

The “Kickoff to Election 2012” will take place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and will be held at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church located at 12802 S Memorial Drive in Bixby.

The cost is $25 per person, and lunch and all training materials will be provided.  Seating is limited and pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

This training, which is a part of American Majority’s Constitution Day Training Bomb, is designed for potential candidates, activists, volunteers, and any concerned citizen who wants to make a difference in the 2012 elections.

THIS BRAND NEW, NEVER BEFORE SEEN PRESENTATION will focus on simple and applicable keys to victory that conservatives can use to prevail in politics and transform our nation.

For more information or to register, please visit www.trainingbomb.com. You can also go here for more information.

American Majority is a fantastic organization, and I can't recommend them and their events enough. This coming election cycle will be crucial to America's future, and it is vital that conservative activists have the training necessary to be effective.

If you can attend, I encourage you to do so.

American Majority 'Tulsa Battlefield Training': Saturday

This Saturday, I will be participating in a local blogger panel at an American Majority training event. Joining me will be bloggers Michael Bates of BatesLine.com, and Peter J. Rudy of OklahomaWatchdog.org.

Here's the press release from American Majority:
Our nation was founded by ordinary citizen activists desiring a government that was accountable to the people.  Today, ordinary citizens in every citizen and in every community are tired of the status quo and are ready to get involved like they never have before to demand accountability.

American Majority’s purpose is to address these passions by providing education and resources to help you reach your goals.

To that end, American Majority desires to challenge concerned citizens to turn their focus to state and local issues with the first annual Tulsa Battlefield Training.

This event will provide those in attendance with two things:

First, the Tulsa Battlefield Training will give those in attendance a clear picture of what is happening at both the state level and local level with government spending, waste, and clear explanation regarding how all levels of government got into this mess.

Secondly, the Tulsa Battlefield Training will also provide tool, resources, and specific ways that attendees can get involved in the local government structure – whether as informed citizen activists or candidates for local office.

Confirmed Presenters Include:
  • Ned Ryun, President of American Majority
  • Michael Carnuccio, President of Oklahoma Council for Public Affairs
  • Matt Robbins, Executive Director of American Majority
  • A Local Blogger Panel Consisting of Michael Bates of Batesline.com; Jamison Faught of MuskogeePolitico.com; and Peter J. Rudy of OklahomaWatchdog.org
  • Plus Presentations by the American Majority Oklahoma Staff
The Tulsa Battlefield Training will take place on Saturday, April 23rd at Tulsa Technology Center located at 3420 S Memorial Dr. from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Doors open at 8:30 am.

Registration is $20 per person (which includes lunch and all materials) - space is limited.

. If you have any questions or would like additional information, call Seth Brown at 405-639-8896 or e-mail him at Seth@americanmajority.org.
This will be a great event; I highly encourage you to attend if at all possible.

Leading Oklahoma Tea Party group leaves Gerhart's OCA

Al Gerhart, co-founder of the Oklahoma City-based Sooner Tea Party group and founder of the (formerly) state-wide Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance, is a controversial figure, even within Tea Party circles. Now it appears that his own actions have come back to bite him -- again.

Gerhart formed the Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance last year, to coordinate legislative lobbying efforts among the many Tea Party groups in the state of Oklahoma. At its height, over 35 groups made up the Alliance. That's when Gerhart started a media firestorm by suggesting that Oklahoma needed to form a new state militia, and mentioned that he had talked to state legislators about it. His statements and the ensuing negative attention prompted many groups in the OCA to leave, including organizations such as the Muskogee Tea Party, and the Oklahoma chapters of Americans for Prosperity and American Majority.

Bereft of the respectability lent to the Alliance by the large groups that had left, the OCA lost a lot of steam and publicity. However, Gerhart still remained in charge, and the coalition continued to remain active throughout the 2010 election cycle (and claims sole responsibility for freshman Republican State Rep. John Bennett's defeat of Glen Bud Smithson (D-Sallisaw) - which is an absurd claim, but aside from the topic at hand).

In recent months, Gerhart has attacked members of the Oklahoma Legislature, and the State House in particular. He sent out robocalls into districts of members who voted at the beginning of session against House Rules changes that the OCA supported, and has threatened to use his coalition to take out members that oppose the OCA's legislative agenda.

On Tuesday, Gerhart and the OCA was dealt yet another big blow when Tulsa metro-based OKforTea, perhaps Oklahoma's largest and most active Tea Party group, notified Gerhart of their immediate withdrawal from the Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance. Their email, signed by each of OKforTea's organizers, stated "Though OKforTEA has enjoyed being a member of the OCA and though we understand and appreciate its mission, we must withdraw from membership as of March 15, 2011. Please remove the name of our organization from the list of members and any printed materials or websites, immediately."

This action relegates the Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance to a largely Central Oklahoma organization, and one increasingly alienated by the Tea Party movement here in Oklahoma.

As evidenced by the mass exodus from Gerhart's coalition, many Tea Party leaders and conservative activists across the state view Gerhart as a liability, a loose cannon, and a radical who is hurting the Tea Party's standing in Oklahoma.

As a Tea Party organizer and former OCA member myself, let me conclude with this note: as Gerhart and his shrinking group continue to implode and lash out, please remember that they are on the extreme fringe, and do not represent the Tea Party movement, here in Oklahoma or nationally.

There will be two important meetings for Muskogee-area resident on Tuesday. First, from the Muskogee Phoenix:

Muskogee voters are invited to attend a public question-and-answer forum concerning the three sales tax increase proposals on the June 9 city ballot.

The town hall meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Roxy Theater.

City Manager Greg Buckley and other city officials will be there to answer residents’ questions concerning the three proposed increases that would total .75 percent or three-quarters of a cent on a $1 purchase if passed.

The taxes are proposed to address a series of Muskogee needs, including replacing a city sewer line and water lines, repairing streets and a training center for police and fire.

The forum is sponsored by the Phoenix, and if you have questions regarding the meeting, call 684-2920.

And now the second one:
National organizations Americans for Prosperity Foundation and American Majority are proud to announce a series of joint grassroots town halls around Oklahoma called

Over the course of these three days, events will be held in eight cities at the following locations and times:

In reference to the upcoming tour, American Majority Deputy State Director said, “Each of these events will be an outstanding opportunity for Oklahomans to hear from two great organizations in AFP and American Majority. Our hope is that the folks we talk to can first find out what is happening in their community, state, and country and then discover the role they can play in our ongoing pursuit of freedom.”

Set to kick off on Monday, May 18th and go through Wednesday, May 20th in cities throughout Oklahoma, the tour will cover 8 cities across the state over the course of 3 days.

AFP State Director Stuart Jolly said: “These stops are meant to highlight and answer the ‘What’s next?’ question posed at the recent tea parties in order to make a real difference in real peoples’ lives.”

Each stop along the way will feature information about Americans for Prosperity Foundation and American Majority and the function each organization plays in the cause for liberty. This tour will highlight current issues facing Oklahomans. There will also be a time for discussion regarding the ongoing efforts at the local, state, and federal levels of government to renew free market and limited government principles.

I highly encourage you to try to make one or both of these events.
