Shane Jett files lawsuit after being fired following opposition to Shawnee mask mandate

Senate Candidate Jett Comments on Lawsuit Against Chairman of Citizen Potawatomi Nation:
Lawsuit was filed in response to Jett’s firing due to his opposition to COVID19 mask mandate.

On August 10, Shane Jett, candidate for state senate district 17, filed an emergency injunction in the District Court of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation against John “Rocky” Barrett in his official capacity as Chairman of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation for illegally trying to fire Jett for exercising his constitutional rights of free speech.

In response to the filing Jett said,

“Last month, I attended a meeting of the Shawnee City Commission to express my opposition to a proposed mask ordinance for the City of Shawnee [you can watch Jett's comments at this link, starting at the 16:00 mark].  This massive government overreach was opposed by most citizens and I wanted to be sure that their voice was heard at the meeting. Therefore, as a private citizen on my private time, I exercised my Constitutional right to free speech and spoke in opposition to the mask mandate.

Former Shawnee mayor Mills endorses Neese for Congress

FORMER SHAWNEE CITY MAYOR CHUCK MILLS ENDORSES TERRY NEESE FOR OKLAHOMA’S 5TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT SEAT

Oklahoma City, OK – Terry Neese, conservative Republican candidate for Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District, has received the endorsement of Chuck Mills, small business owner and former Mayor of the City of Shawnee. In a statement released today, Mills lauded Neese as the only candidate in the race who has the experience needed to help President Trump create jobs and empower small businesses to succeed.

“Terry understands the challenges that come with running a business, managing payroll, and creating jobs – and there is no candidate in the race who is better suited to fight for the Oklahoma working families and business owners,” said Chuck Mills. “It is time for our District to once again have a strong and trusted conservative voice in the Halls of Congress. After a 31-year career creating and finding tens of thousands of jobs, I know Terry is ready to take on Kendra Horn and other radicals in Congress who are pushing massive tax hikes, job-killing regulations, and an agenda that will devastate small businesses in Oklahoma and across the nation.”

“Chuck Mills was a tremendous Mayor for Shawnee taxpayers and I am proud to have such a respected public servant and accomplished business owner endorse my campaign,” said Terry Neese. “In Congress, I will not stand by and allow Kendra Horn’s Democratic Party to undo the progress that has been made under President Trump’s Administration. I will fight tirelessly for lower taxes, regulatory relief, and policies that will provide economic security for 5th District workers and business owners.”

Former Shawnee City Mayor Chuck Mills is the latest to join the list of current and former conservative legislators, public officials, leaders, and organizations who have endorsed Terry Neese for U.S. Congress. Since launching her campaign in April, Neese has earned the support of Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-5), former Republican 2016 Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, Shawnee Mayor Richard Finley, RightNOW Women PAC, Eagle Forum PAC, and Freedomworks For America.

CD5 GOP primary: Neese endorsed by Shawnee mayor

NEESE SECURES ENDORSEMENT OF SHAWNEE CITY MAYOR RICHARD FINLEY

Oklahoma City, OK – Terry Neese, conservative Republican candidate for Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District, has secured the endorsement of Shawnee City Mayor Richard Finley. In a statement released today, Mayor Finley urged 5th District Republicans to join him in supporting “a proven conservative and successful job creator” who will return Oklahoma values to our Congressional House District in 2020.

“Terry is a proven conservative and successful job creator who has devoted her entire life and career to helping tens of thousands of men and women succeed,” said Mayor Richard Finley. “There is no candidate in this race who is more equipped with the experience and leadership needed to take on Kendra Horn and stop the radical Left’s destructive giveaways. I am proud to give Terry my full endorsement and I urge 5th District Republicans to join me in electing a results-oriented ally of our President who will deliver for Oklahomans.”

“I am proud to have the endorsement of Mayor Finley, a fierce defender of good governance and a tremendous advocate for Shawnee taxpayers,” said Terry Neese. “Like me, Mayor Finley has seen firsthand how big-government regulations and taxes cripple job growth, hurt our economy, and leave working families struggling to make ends meet. As the Congresswoman for the 5th District, I will fight for regulatory relief, lower taxes, and pro-job policies that will help grow our nation’s economy and secure brighter futures for all Oklahomans.”

In addition to serving as Mayor of the City of Shawnee, Richard Finley is also a retired partner of Finley & Cook and a successful Oklahoma Certified Public Accountant.
