State Sen. Fields files for LtGov, State Rep. McDaniel for Treasurer

Following State Rep. Mulready announcing his candidacy for Insurance Commissioner, I decided to take a look and see if anybody new had indicated their intent to run for other statewide offices. Sure enough, there were some new names. While no official announcements have been made to my knowledge, two more state legislators recently filed Statements of Organization with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission for statewide offices in the 2018 election.

On the 28th, State Sen. Eddie Fields (R-Wynona) filed paperwork for a Lieutenant Governor campaign, joining fellow Republicans Matt Pinnell and Dominique Block.

State Rep. Randy McDaniel (R-OKC) filed his statement of candidacy for State Treasurer on the 13th.

With every statewide seat up for grabs due to term-limits (minus the State Superintendent and Corporation Commission), expect more state legislators to throw their hats in the ring for the various offices.
