Can former OU football coach Barry Switzer play spoiler in the gubernatorial race, once again? Democrat candidate Jari Askins sure hopes so.
Switzer played a key role in the upset election of, then a little-known State Senator, Governor Brad Henry in 2002. Now the Askins' campaign has released a final-week commercial with Switzer.
You can count on this to run very heavily until the election. But will it be enough for Askins to pull off a victory, as polls continue to show Fallin with a large lead? Only time will tell.

I am not sure Barry Switzer played that heavy a roll in that "upset". Henry won that election by less than 1% of the vote over Steve Largent.
ReplyDeleteWasn't the "spoiler" Independent Gary Richardson who got a little over 14% of the conservative vote because he supported gambling and Largent did not?
(Steve finally said about a week before the election that he would agree to a ballot initiative, but it was too late. Some saw him as a flip-flopper)

I have been saying all along, we need to watch this race. Jari Askins has a way of winning races she should lose by double digits. It's not over yet.
