Cong. Russell Endorses Kevin Hern For 1st Congressional Seat

Congressman Steve Russell Endorses Kevin Hern For Oklahoma’s 1st Congressional Seat

Tulsa, OK – Oklahoma 5th District Congressman Steve Russell has endorsed Kevin Hern for Oklahoma’s 1st Congressional Seat being vacated by Representative Jim Bridenstine after he was nominated by President Trump to head NASA.

"Kevin Hern is a fighter. As a soldier, I love that about him. He fought his way out of food stamps, through engineering school and now has become a very successful businessman in multiple enterprises," stated Russell. "There is no doubt in my mind that he will fight to keep our nation strong and secure, and he will fight to help us eliminate our national debt."

Steve Russell is the founder and owner of Two Rivers Arms, a small rifle manufacturing business, and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014. Prior to that, he was a U.S. Army infantry officer. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Russell commanded the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry and conducted combat operations in Tikrit, Iraq. His unit played a key role in the capture of Saddam Hussein. Russell also served in the Oklahoma State Senate from 2008-2012.

“I am humbled and proud to have received the endorsement of Congressman Russell in my race for Congress,” said Hern. “As a soldier he knows we need a strong military. As a free-market conservative and business owner he also knows that we cannot have a strong military without a strong economy. The key to robust economic growth and more jobs is to lift the regulatory and tax burden that have stifled small business in the past. I am the only guy in the race that has run a business and actually created jobs. Congressman Russell also knows my heart for veterans and that we must take good care of them as we have promised we would. In order to properly defend our nation and take care of our veterans, we need a strong and dynamic economy. I know what it takes to make that happen."

As the owner of KTAK Corporation, Kevin leads the operations that own ten McDonald’s restaurants that employ over 400 people in the Tulsa area. Kevin has served in various regional and national leadership positions within the McDonald’s Franchise System. Most recently, he served 5 years as the Chairman of the Systems Economic Team for over 3,000 franchisees that own all 15,000 restaurants across the entire country.
